October 21, 2006 – 4:03 pmLast.fm is seriously cool. The coolest ever. At the beta site, there are two new features which are coming out in a couple of weeks time.
taste-o-meter
The taste-o-meter shows a correlation between yourself and the particular user which you are viewing.
concert calendars
In my opinion one of the strongest features to come to last.fm is the ability to add concerts to global and user calendars. Users are able to create events, announce their attendance, submit reviews, pictures and videos too! Next, imagine a page which lists a whole set of upcoming events within x kilometers from where you live! Amazing!!!
Seriously cool. I’m imagining browsing my Amarok context browser and listening to RHCP and a little box is shown: “Hey, seb! the RHCP are playing in Sydney in April!”
I think i’m in web 2.0 heaven.

Yes, that are cool features, but it really sucks that there are some open problems. For example the missing musicbrainz integration - http://blog.musicbrainz.org/archives/2006/09/returning_to_th.html#c1361 , that some groups have no charts (but have more then 15 members), some user with more then 100 songs cannot vote for pictures, the tags count at the left of the user page is most of the time completly wrong, some tags are missing in the overview (search for example for “thrash metal” in http://www.last.fm/user/Enigm4/tags ), you need rights for access management in groups when you want to add connections,….
